Family Central is contracted with the Florida Department of Health as a sponsor for the USDA Child Care Food Program to sponsor licensed family child care homes in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties and child care centers in Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties.
What are the benefits of participating in the Child Care Food Program?
- Children receive nutritious meals.
- Providers receive valuable reimbursement money to help with their meal costs.
- Reimbursement rates are adjusted every year by the USDA.
- Technical assistance is available to providers to help them get started and is ongoing throughout the year.
- Food and nutrition training is available to providers for in-service credit at no cost to the provider.
- Approved menus are provided taking the worry out of menu planning.
- Child care centers can use a state approved caterer who will prepare and deliver meals and disposable paper products daily.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
